The Open Direct Current Alliance had the honor to host the Korea DC Alliance in Frankfurt, Germany, for signing a cooperation agreement between both organizations.
In a world where energy systems must become smarter, cleaner, and more efficient, collaboration is key to unlocking innovation at scale. That's why the Korea Direct Current Alliance (K-DCA) and the Open Direct Current Alliance (ODCA) have joined forces - signing a cooperation agreement that sets the course for closer international alignment in the field of direct current (DC) technology.
The agreement was signed during a dedicated gathering at ZVEI e. V. (German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association) in Frankfurt, Germany. The event opened with a warm reception and introductory remarks, setting the tone for a forward-looking partnership committed to meaningful collaboration.
Following the official signing and ceremonial exchange of the agreement, participants came together for a working-level meeting, where the two alliances shared insights on:
Ongoing standardization activities
Major projects and initiatives
Opportunities for collaboration in research, innovation, and global harmonizationOngoing standardization efforts and how to harmonize frameworks across borders
By fostering strong international networks and aligning core activities, the agreement lays the foundation for streamlined development, reduced duplication of efforts, and faster implementation of DC technologies in global energy systems.
This partnership underscores a shared commitment to making modern power infrastructures more resilient, sustainable, and interoperable. Together, ODCA and K-DCA aim to amplify the impact of DC technologies in accelerating the energy transition.
