At Fraunhofer IISB
This is an German-speaking event
As DC applications continue to evolve, system voltages are rising prompting a critical need to reexamine the boundaries of low-voltage DC. This event, organized by Fraunhofer IISB and TU Ilmenau, brings together experts and stakeholders to explore the implications of the 1500 V DC threshold, with a special focus on the standardization gap between 1500 V and 6000 V.
ecent developments — including the formation of an IEC ad hoc Group (ahG), the UL definition of low-voltage DC at 2000 V, and updates to IEC 60664 on insulation coordination — highlight the urgency of addressing this transitional voltage range just above 1000 V AC / 1500 V DC.
Presentation and discussion of real-life case studies
Exploration of current challenges and opportunities in standardization
Open dialogue on technical, regulatory, and practical perspectives
This event aims to foster open exchange of ideas, share emerging trends, and compile diverse viewpoints. Participants will gain insights into ongoing initiatives, contribute to shaping future standards, and connect with peers across the industry.
