Schaltbau NExT Factory - Model project for DC-based industrial production

To achieve the energy transition, we need ideas and a pioneering spirit. That's why Schaltbau have launched the Next Factory, a plant that will be supplied almost entirely by a direct current system when completed. To do this, we are converting all consumers to direct current and connecting them directly to a 1350 kilowatt peak, powerful PV system and a battery storage system. The major advantages are that the connected load from the public grid is reduced by up to 70% depending on the application, conversion and transmission losses are drastically reduced and we were able to save around 25% on the use of copper as a material during construction.
