Our facility is designed to integrate both AC and DC systems to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability. The DC network originates at the Active Front End (AFE), which converts AC to DC and feeds the 650V DC bus. This bus then separates into two DC sectors for the two cells, each currently supplying three robots. Additionally, our lighting operates on DC, and a DC welding unit will be integrated in 2025.
The facility features AC-side grounding, with the grounding scheme being "DC-TN-System with AC-side grounding." Our focus is on evaluating the benefits of DC ourselves to maximize energy efficiency and resource conservation.
Our system consists of two main parts: the AC section with ES and BS cabinets according to corporate standards, and the two DC cabinets. The DC cabinets include the input side, where AC is converted to DC and filtered, and the distribution and protection side with devices from various manufacturers. A special requirement ensures that if a fault occurs in the AC section, the DC section is also shut down, maintaining overall system safety
