Hanover Fair 2023 | Resource conservation and energy efficiency of industrial DC networks

Industrial DC networks are resource-saving and energy-efficient because the use of DC reduces losses that occur when AC is converted to DC and vice versa. Likewise, the need for conductor material is drastically reduced. This leads to a reduction in energy consumption and, consequently, costs. In addition, DC grids can also facilitate the integration of renewable energy, as they offer better controllability and flexibility, and the connected load is significantly reduced. This is explained using results from the DC-INDUSTRIE2 project.
