Leibniz-INP

The Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology e.V. (INP) is leading in application-oriented research in the area of physical plasma and the largest non-university institute in Europe in low temperature plasmas. The institute is member of the Leibniz Association (www.leibniz-gemeinschaft.de).

The focus of the INP in the DC technology field aims at the integration, operation and safety of MVDC grids, where there is a lack of standards and of technologically mature affordable solutions for components. Together with the members of ODCA and using our high-power laboratories, diagnostic techniques and mathematical simulation tools we ought to contribute in the development of innovative detection and control tools, current interruption devices and power-system protection topologies, which are needed for reliable and safe, environmentally conform and affordable electrical power systems in the future.
